Privacy Policy

Information Collection and Use

1. Registration

In order to use the LearningFRONT™ website ("LF Website"), you must first complete the sign-up form and create a username, password, and nickname. During the sign-up process you are required to give contact information (such as your email address).

LearningFRONT™ is the sole owner of the contact and usage information collected on the LF Website. LearningFRONT™ collects personally identifiable information from our users at several different points on the LF Website.

2. Log Files

As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.

We use this information, which does not identify individual Members, to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track Members’ movements around the site, and to gather demographic information about our Member base as a whole.

We do not link this automatically-collected data to personally identifiable information. However, your account is associated with any and all contributions you make to the site and you are responsible for adhering to all presently published IP policies.

3. Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a Member’s computer for record-keeping purposes. We use both session ID cookies and/or persistent cookies. We use session cookies to make it easier for you to navigate the LF Website. A session ID cookie expires when you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive for an extended period of time. You can remove persistent cookies by following directions provided in your Internet browser’s “help” file. We set a persistent cookie to store your Username and Passwords, so you don’t have to enter it more than once. Persistent cookies also enable us to track and target the interests of our Members to enhance the experience on the LF Website.

If you reject cookies, you will be unable to use the LF Website.

This privacy policy covers the use of cookies by LearningFRONT™ only.

4. Profile

We store information that we collect through the sign-up process and the contributions you make to the LF Website to create a profile of your background information to serve the LF Website and to enforce IP and use policies. All contributions you make on the site are linked to your Member profile and login/display name. Any Member of the LF Website can view your profile and the information stored there (Except your password) through the colleague search feature. If you choose to publish WikiTasks, all Members can see your published contributions and your screen name is associated with the contribution.

We do not share your profile with other third parties.

5. Uses of Information

LearningFRONT™ collects personal information that you disclose when you sign-up with the LF Website and through your use of the services on the LF Website. LearningFRONT™ automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, LearningFRONT™ cookies, the contributions you make and the page you request. LearningFRONT™ uses information for the following general purposes: monitor traffic, improve our services, enforce terms of use and IP policies, contact you, and conduct research.

Communications from the LF Website

1. Service-Related Announcements

LearningFRONT™ will send you strictly service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if the LF Website service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, LearningFRONT™ might send you an email.

Generally, you may not opt-out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature. If you do not wish to receive them, you have the option to deactivate your account.

2. Customer Service

Based upon the personally identifiable information you provide LearningFRONT™, we will send you a welcoming email to verify your username and password. We will also communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to provide the services you request as reasonable.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

1. Personally Identifiable Information

LearningFRONT™ does not share personally identifiable information with third parties. LearningFRONT™ does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you collected in connection with your use of the LF Website with other people or entities, except as otherwise specified.

You may correct, update, or delete personally identifiable information by making the change on our member profile page (“My LearningFRONT Profile”) or by sending an e-mail to admin@learningfront.com, or by contacting us though any method described in the LF Website Contact Us webpage. If you no longer wish to use the LF Website, you may deactivate your membership by sending an e-mail to admin@learningfront.com.

2. Links to Other Websites

The LF Website may contain links to other websites that are not owned or controlled by LearningFront™. Please be aware that LearningFRONT™ is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites.

We encourage you to be aware when you leave the LF Website and to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information.

This privacy statement applies only to information collected by the LF Website.

3. LearningFRONT Tools

The LF Website is a professional service dedicated to supporting virtual professional learning communities. The LF Website provides many on-line tools for Members to contribute and participate in the learning community from colleague and team messages and instant messaging to the ability to contribute and share content and work collaboratively on content development projects. If you use the tool box on the LF Website, or use any of the other contributory and participatory functions, you should be aware that any personally identifiable information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by other users of these tools or functions, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these tools and functions, share in your profile, and share in the resources you contribute or otherwise disclose on the LF Website.

4. Security

LearningFRONT™ follows generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

5. Business Transitions

In the event LearningFRONT™ goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another entity, your personally identifiable information will likely be among the assets transferred. You will be notified via prominent notice on the LF Website for 30 days of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.

Legal Disclaimer

LearningFRONT™ reserves the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on LearningFRONT™.

Changes in this Privacy Policy

If LearningFRONT™ decides to change its privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy policy on the homepage and other places we deem appropriate so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here, by email, or by means of a notice on our home page.
